What does a commercial remodel involve on the electrical side?
Usually more than people expect. Existing wiring rarely matches the new layout, so it means tracing and reworking circuits, moving or adding panels, redoing lighting and controls for the new floor plan, and bringing anything legacy up to current code. 93 Electric walks the space first and tells you what it will really take before demolition starts.
Can you keep a restaurant or retail space open during the remodel?
In most cases yes. We phase the work — keeping the kitchen, coolers, point-of-sale, and life-safety circuits live while the remodel moves through the space section by section, and scheduling any full shutdown for off-hours. Keeping a business running through a build is a planning problem, and it is the part of the job Josh was trained on.
What if the existing wiring in the building is old or non-compliant?
That is normal in the Bitterroot and in older Missoula commercial stock. We document what is there, tell you what has to be corrected to pass inspection versus what is merely worth correcting, and price both so you can decide. Nothing gets buried behind new drywall that we would not stand behind.
Do you coordinate with the general contractor and the inspector?
Yes — directly. Josh handles his own scheduling, rough-in and finish inspections, and coordination with the other trades. There is no office layer between the person doing the work and the person running the job.
